Brass Alloy C48500

  • Brass Alloy C48500
  • General Characteristics

C48500 (Naval Brass Leaded) is similar to C46400. The addition of lead provides a high degree of machine-ability. Good capacity for hot-forming but is not recommended for cold-working. Can be readily brazed or soldered, very good corrosion resistance to seawater, high ductility, high electrical / thermal conductivity, high impact strength, good creep resistance. Typical applications include: fasteners, valve stems, light bearings, gears, screw machine parts, marine hardware and seawater valve stems.
